If you are anything like me, you spend a majority of your tv-watching time on Netflix, with The Office. For whatever reason, Michael Scott is just as funny the 23rd time around as he was the first. Thus, an Office themed party seems appropriate, for any occasion!

They are just bouncing back a commission to me for sending you their way! And, don’t worry, I won’t recommend anything from a website I don’t trust. I have your back! I have a few suggestions to make your Office TV show theme party a success, as well as a party pack to make your life easy.

“The Office” Themed Decorations

When it comes to an “Office” themed party, there are a few decoration non-negotiables. You have to have the terrible, barely blown up balloons! Remember the scene for Kelly’s birthday…..brown, black and grey to match the carpet. You can grab these balloons from Party City, Walmart or even Amazon. The nice thing is, you won’t spend a lot of time/energy blowing them up, since you only have to make them small and scatter them on the table.

Next up, the banner! I made a banner that you can print at home. It looks very similar to the one in the TV show, basic font, white background. All the letters and numbers are there, including some symbols and a few characters/balloons for fun! Tape some string on the back and your banner is up and working for you!

“The Office” Themed Food/Drink

When you think back to the different episodes of The Office, you can really pick out many different food options. The possibilities are endless. I went with a really random assortment: Cheeseballs (from Michael Scott Paper Company), Nerds (from the Halloween Episode where Dwight tells Erin he’s eating Jim’s), Kit Kat Bars (from when Andy can’t remember the jingle), Pigs in a Blanket (from when Kevin eats them at the Glee watching party), and OF COURSE pretzels with toppings (from Stanley’s favorite pretzel day). These are just a few options. You can choose any of your favorites. In my Office Themed Party Pack, I included food tags. Some are pictures of your favorites (listed above) and the others are blank, so you can fill in your own.

For the drinks, you can definitely mix it up. I chose to go with a Michael Scott classic, the “Orange-Vod-Juice-Ka”, aka the screwdriver. A little Vodka and a little orange juice. Also, I served water bottles. The party pack has water bottle wraps too. 🙂

“The Office” Party Games

The games for this party are pretty awesome. First, I created one of those fortune teller things from the 90’s. Remember those? I made one centered around the characters of Michael Scott. Use this fortune teller to determine with Michael Scott classic you will turn out to be…..Prison Mike? Michael Klump? We will see…..

Second game I created was an Office quote scramble. This is an easy paper you can print out and hand out to your guests. They can then decide which quote belongs with which character.

Finally, I created a sheet with blank squares for your guests to fill in. The prep you need to do as party host, is to hide little Office references around your house. This could be a basil plant next to a jar of marmalade (from the Garden Party), or maybe the map from Scranton to Youngstown Ohio (from Cafe Disco when Pam and Jim are trying to sneak off and get married). There are two versions of the game. One, where I came up with the ideas for you and one that is blank for you to get creative! Included in the game is also a shopping checklist and some printable things like Jim’s business card, Hunter’s CD cover, etc. Hide things in plain sight and enjoy watching your party guests go on an Office themed scavenger hunt.

“The Office” Photo Props & Music

Photo props are so fun! These are essential for your Office party. The photo props are sold on the EventOTB Etsy shop by themselves, or in the party pack. The photo props include: Dunder Mifflin logo, Dwight’s glasses and tie, Andy’s bowtie and “Andy for Manager?” pin, “That’s what she said” speech bubble, Sabre water bottle, Sprinkles the cat, stapler in jello, Dwight’s Lackawana County volunteer sheriff badge, a Schrute buck, “Pippity Poppity Give me the Zoppity” speech bubble, Cornell pennant, “Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica”, World’s best boss mug, Threat Level Midnight Logo and, of course, a Dundie award for “Hottest in the Office”.

Ain’t no party like a Scranton party! Don’t forget the playlist! I included it in my party pack for an easy list of all songs featured in the Office TV show.

“The Office” Themed Party Favors

You can’t have an Office party without an awesome themed party favor. I used two things for party favors: small trophies that look like Dundies and Chili’s Gift Cards ($5-10). The Dundies could be given out individually with a different theme for each person, just like the Dundies (although maybe less offensive, lol). Or, you can just give them out. The Chili’s gift card I put in these little plastic containers that look like office supplies. Another idea you could use for a party favor is a lunch bag with pencils and coupons to local establishments, like Michael Scott hands out to the new people during the Merger.
