When it comes to Thanksgiving, the fall table decor is the centerpiece of the whole day! And by the table, I mean the Turkey….on the table. It’s fun to make your table look good for your turkey, and the guests of course! I put together some Thanksgiving table setting inspiration for you in five different fall aesthetics. See these 5 easy place settings below!

Fall Table Decor – Burgundy Fall Aesthetic

This table setting uses all the fun fall colors! It’s a blend of pale oranges, browns and burgundy. Of course, I love a plate topper and in this case, there are a couple options. You can use a napkin/napkin ring or something totally unique like a ceramic pumpkin. I got my plates, charger and ceramic pumpkin at Hobby Lobby, but you can look at craft stores for fun items that are similar.

This thanksgiving table setting idea has all the fun fall colors and textures. I love the thanksgiving aesthetic and it’s a good balance between formal and casual! #thanksgivingtablesetting #placesettingideas #fallplacesetting #thanksgivingtablescapeinspiration #thanksgivingtablescapes

The key in this table setting is to mix color and texture. I love the wood grain from the charger with the florals. It’s got a whole nature and woodsy vibe. The cloth napkin and textured napkin ring add additional texture. Don’t be afraid of mixing textures!

Thanksgiving Table Setting – Bring On the Turkey

What’s Thanksgiving without a cute Turkey? This Thanksgiving table setting is completely based around this Turkey plate I found. I incorporated the color within the turkey plate by adding the orange charger. The gold plate is a funky shape and also brings something different to your eye with the metallic edge. The cloth napkin and the fringe on the placement bring in some fun textures. All are used to create visual interest.

Don’t be afraid to use something cutesy, like this turkey. Especially at the holidays, people are open to nostalgia and feeling young again. So, if you like the Turkey plate (like me), then go for it! Plus, sometimes, it’s the perfect thing to tie together your whole place setting. Thanks Turkey!

Fall Table Decor – Sweater Weather Neutrals

This fall table decor is perfect for the person who loves the neutrals. With only black and white, this table setting relies on visual interest through details and textures. The placemat is a textured square placemat that I got at Z Gallerie (mall store – but they have a website too!). The white charger, scripted round plate and sweater weather pillow are all from Hobby Lobby. The square black plate is from Home Goods. But, you can recreate this look with different materials too!

Also my square plate is crooked 🤦🏻‍♀️ but y’all get the idea! Keep the textures and shapes interesting if your table setting is simple in colors! #tablesettinginspiration #neutraltablescape #simpletablesetting #fallneutraldecor #blackandwhitedecorations #placesettingideas #partystyle😎💫💕 #thanksgivingtablesetting #sweaterweather❤️❤️

The whole idea of this look is that – just because it’s fall doesn’t mean you have to use what are traditionally considered fall colors. Black and white may be your aesthetic, so we can make that work! Just keep the textures and details interesting.

Copper Fall Table Decor

This fall table decor place setting has some more traditional autumn colors: burgundy, deep yellow and even orange/copper. The biggest impacts in this place setting come from the copper charger, the fringe placemat and the dried flowers plate topper. The placemat, charger, and dried flowers came from Hobby Lobby. The clear textured dinner plate, square white plate and napkin came from Home Goods.

I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but color isn’t everything in a place setting. Sometimes it’s more about shapes and textures. Don’t be afraid to play with different combinations, textures and shapes. Just remember to keep your table setting formed like a pyramid, biggest plate on bottom to smallest on top!

Wrap Up

There are no real rules (in my mind) to table settings. I think it’s all about individual style. That said, you can definitely use some tips and make them your own. Mix up the textures, sizes and color combos until you find something that inspires you! Think about your party or dinner theme, who’s attending and how formal you want your event to be. But, overall, just have fun! If you want some more table setting inspiration, check out this board on EventOTB’s Pinterest.
