How to Host a Painting Night Party the Easy Way

Art parties are so fun and really popular lately. Whether it’s a paint and sip, or a Pinterest craft party, the trend is to get together with your girlfriends and do some art! The biggest fear I hear people talk about when it comes to painting night parties is not knowing how to create a design for the painting. These parties are supposed to be fun and relaxing, so you shouldn’t have to worry about coming up with a painting design and teaching everyone how to do it. That’s where Winnie’s Picks comes in! This company makes the best adult paint by numbers! It’s great for a paint party because everyone can just work on painting by the numbers….no stress! Keep reading for how to set up your own paint party with food, materials, favors and more.

The Adult Paint by Numbers You Need

Winnie’s Picks is my favorite adult paint by numbers. The quality is seriously so good! It comes with a paint by number on canvas, not paper. It literally feels like you are a hardcore artist, (even when you’re not). The set comes with four different paintbrushes, of various sizes, so that is super cool. They give you the paints, with numbers on the cap, so you know what goes where. There’s paperwork that shows you what the final product should look like and some details and fun things their company does. (Like you can take a picture with your finished result and post online for a chance to win $$ to their shop!)

Besides the amazing quality of the product, Winnie’s Picks does such a good job with the variety of designs. They have everything from animals to landscapes to the classics like Starry Starry Night by Van Gogh. (I got this one for myself, wish me luck, it’s a level Difficult!)

For this paint party theme, I chose the brightly colored giraffe. Each painting has a difficulty level and I thought, for this party, a level Easy would be best. But, once you and the besties get really good at painting by numbers, you can level all the way up to difficult. In fact, you can see a difficult one in this Winnie’s Pick gift idea post.

Finally, a really unique thing that Winnie’s Picks does is make custom paint by numbers. You can literally upload a picture and they will create a paint by number of your picture! How insane is that! I have never seen anything like it. It would be a really fun gift idea for a bridesmaid proposal, engagement party, Mother’s or Father’s Day, or so many other occasions.

For your painting night party, you can do a custom painting, choose the same painting for everyone, or get a variety of options. Oh, by the way, these paintings are 16×20, so not small! They are full size paintings!

The Setup for Your Painting Night Party

Since I chose this super fun giraffe, I made my party colors a full rainbow! This abstract giraffe has all brights and I am here for it. I did paper plates, of course, with a variety of colors. I found these paint cans at Hobby Lobby and used them as my centerpiece. Super simple, just place some fake flowers in the can. I used a few different colors to keep with the rainbow theme.

For the place settings, I found these small canvases. They are little square canvas magnets. Then I came across the worlds tiniest easels. (All of this came from Hobby Lobby). These make up the paint party place cards. I wrote on the outside (on the plastic) each person’s name with sharpie. That way, they can paint their own mini canvas magnet.

For party favors, I came across these rainbow paper bags. They were so affordable and match my party aesthetic perfectly. (Also from Hobby Lobby – I’m all about a one stop shop). I grabbed a bunch of rainbow tissue paper and thus our party favor was created. You can fill the bag with candy, small art supplies like stickers or paint. Then your party attendees can take their canvas magnet home in the bag too.

Painting Night Party Snacks

I am going to be honest, I am not a baker or a chef! 🙂 I do, however, know how to take a store bought bakery item and make it fit into my party theme! This is how the art party cupcakes came about. These cupcakes are from Walmart and so are the sprinkles. I bought sanding sugar sprinkles in each color, for $0.97 each. Then I let the cupcakes warm up to room temp (because I had them in the fridge). Once they were warmed up a bit, I literally dropped the sprinkles on the top of the cupcakes and turned them upside down to get rid of the excess. Super simple!

For the display, I got this wood artist’s palette (at Hobby Lobby). It is actually intended to be used as a paint palette, but I used it to display cupcakes! The cupcakes have wrappers, so you don’t have to worry about cupcake touching wood. I arranged them in rainbow order and it’s all set for you!
